A week of Action For Rail
Thanks to everyone who helped with our “Choose a better route for UK Rail” action last month. Your emails to MPs tipped enough of them into signing up to the Early Day Motion, and the total broke through our 100 signatories target, which has been helpful in our lobbying ahead of our new rail campaign launch next week.
The UK’s rail unions have now come together with the TUC as Action For Rail, to argue against the dangerours and damaging proposals in the government’s Command White Paper on rail, and instead to put forward our alternative proposals to make our rail services better for passengers, more sustainable, and safer.
Next week kicks off the first campaign activity on Monday 28th, with events around the country to take the message out to the travelling public.
If you’re going to be travelling by rail on Monday, look out for activity at your station – here’s a list of where they’ll be taking place. They’d welcome a hand if you’re able to help out too!
And we’ve also got a bunch of public meetings taking place next Thursday (31 May) . Again, check out the list here.
Thanks again for your help so far, and we look forward to bringing you more news on the campaign for a better future for our railways soon.
