Hello and welcome to Going To Work, the new campaign network from the TUC. We’re launching this in time for TUC Congress in Manchester from 13 September.
Unions are no strangers to campaigning. We’ve seen campaign victories that have had a huge benefit for working people in the UK. Unions were vital to the campaigns to win working time reforms including breaks at weekends, and public holidays for everyone to enjoy, as well as equal pay, safety laws, the minimum wage, rights for agency workers and many more.
We’re in action for members at the workplace level, and lobby in the corridors of power, be it in Parliament, Europe or internationally. We also work to make working people’s voices heard in the media.
Going To Work seeks to take the principles behind the union movement’s campaigns, and fuse them with the power of the internet. We want to provide tools and actions to help people who agree with our ideals, union members or not, to have more impact online.
